This weekend TSN will broadcast the Canadian Junior Men’s and Women’s Championships from the North Hill and Glencoe curling clubs in Calgary, Alberta.
On the women’s side, Ontario is represented by Clancy Grandy’s rink from K-W Granite in Waterloo. Grandy, a student at the University of Guelph, skips teammates Sarah Wilkes, Laura Crocker, and Lynn Kreviazuk, all from Wilfrid Laurier University. Elmira junior curlers may recall Laura Crocker as one of the Laurier women who visited our club in November. Currently, Ontario has a 5-5 record going into the final two round-robin games today, still in contention for a tie-breaker spot.
The first place teams after the conclusion of round-robin play today advance to their respective finals, while the second and third place teams meet in semi-finals.
The women’s semi-final is Saturday morning at 12:30 pm, with the final at 7:30 pm EST, live on TSN. The men’s semi-final is Sunday morning at 12:30 pm, with the final also at 7:30 pm EST, also live on TSN.
