A reminder to all Little Rock and Bantam curlers to take advantage of the horrible weather and watch some great curling on the TSN network: it’s the Brier, the Canadian Men’s Curling Championship.
After last night’s end of round-robin play, the four playoff teams have been determined and they are: Newfoundland & Labrador (Gushue), Manitoba (Stoughton), Ontario (Howard) and Alberta (Kevin Martin). Alberta’s Kevin Koe was last year’s champion.
The first playoff game for the 2011 Brier is tonight at 7:30pm on TSN.
While the Brier has been going on, the World Juniors have been underway with both the men’s and women’s rinks from Saskatchewan in the hunt for medals. Unfortunately, as far as I can determine there will be no television coverage of the finals for this event.
One more TV event coming up shortly is the World Women’s Curling Championships that begin March 19 from Esjberg, Denmark. TSN will broadcast all Canadian games at these World’s. Since the event is held in Denmark all of the games will be very early, so have the coffee perking if you’re going to watch the morning draw!
Kevin Koe is the defending champion. Unfortunately, he’s not there to defend it… 🙂
I meant to say that Alberta was defending champion….clearly that didn’t come out right.
