While this is the start of the NHL playoffs on TV, there is still an opportunity to catch some world class curling on the tube this weekend. CBC is carrying live coverage of the GP Car and Home Players’ Championship from Grande Prairie, Alberta, the final stop on the World Curling Tour this year.
Play has been underway since Tuesday and has already featured some interesting results: Braeden Moskowy and his Canadian junior champion rink from Regina beat Mike McEwen and his Winnipeg foursome on Wednesday, and Scotland sensation Eve Muirhead stole three points in the seventh end to beat Rachel Homan’s Ottawa foursome 7-3 in play on Tuesday.
This event is a triple-knockout with women’s round-robin games continuing today.
